KING CRIMSON IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING 1969
...BARBED WIRE.... :-p
A YOUNG FIFTEEN YEAR OLD CUBAN GIRL, BEAUTIFUL, JET-BLACK HAIR LONG AND PEARL SKIN, THOSE EYES. WAS NAMED QUEEN OF THE HAVANA CARNIVAL YEARS BEFORE THE TRIUMPH OF THE CUBAN REVOLUTION IN 1959 WHEN IT WAS REAL AND AUTHENTIC. DURING THE PARADE SHE WAS PLACED ON ONE OF THE DECORATED PARADE TRUCKS AND SINCE SHE WAS THE NEW HIGHNESS OF THE CARNIVAL, AS IS A CUSTOM IN THE CARIBBEAN AND LATIN AMERICAN, THE FLASHES OF THE CAMERAS WENT OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND BLINDED THE ADMIRING CROWD.
SHE WAS BELATED, AMAZED WATCHING AS SHE WAS SURROUNDED BY HUNDREDS OF ADMIRERS, OF HER BEAUTY AND SUCCESS, THE FLASHES INCREASED AND IN THE UNKNOWN PHENOMENON OF A SECOND IN TIME AND SPACE, INSANITY CLOUDED AND SPARKED HER REASON, HER EYES TWIRLED AND SCREWED THEMSELVES INTO EACH OTHER AND SHE WAS THROWN INTO THE WORLD OF FLOWERS AND SCHIZOPHRENIA, A STILL MYSTERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS.
SHE REMAINS IN HAVANA AT THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE TELLS EVERYONE SHE SEES THAT SHE WANTS TO BE A BALLET BALLERINA.
FRAGMENT FROM STORIES AND POEMS OF HAVANA, CUBA BY CARLOS MIJARES POYER.
